How to Add Bookmarks

Save and organize important web content without relying on browser history or cloud-synced bookmarks.

Documentation/Getting Started/How to Add Bookmarks

DulyNote uses a local-first approach. Instead of saving only a URL, each bookmark includes a stored snapshot of the site's metadata — such as the title, description, and icon — kept directly on your device.

Save a Bookmark

  1. Share to DulyNote: Use your browser's share option to send a page to DulyNote.
  2. Add Tags: Assign tags to categorize bookmarks (for example, Research, Wishlist, or Recipes).
  3. Mark as Favorite: Tap the Star icon to pin important bookmarks to the top of your list.

Import Existing Bookmarks

You can import your current browser bookmarks in just a few steps.

Step 1 — Export from Your Browser

Export your bookmarks as an .html file:

  • Safari (macOS): File → Export Bookmarks
  • Chrome (Desktop): Menu (⋮) → Bookmarks and lists → Bookmark manager → Export bookmarks
  • Microsoft Edge (Windows): Menu (…) → Favorites → More options (…) → Export favorites

Step 2 — Import into DulyNote

  1. Open DulyNote and tap the (+) button.
  2. Select Import Bookmarks.
  3. Locate and select your exported .html file.
  4. DulyNote will parse and import all bookmarks with their titles and URLs.

Why Local-First Bookmarks?

Unlike browser bookmarks that sync to a cloud account, DulyNote bookmarks stay on your device. They are not tied to a browser profile, not shared with any service, and not lost if you switch browsers or platforms.

💡 Tip After importing, use tags to organize your bookmarks into topic-based collections for faster retrieval.
