DulyNote supports a wide range of file types, storing them entirely on your device with optional encryption for sensitive documents.
Supported File Types
DulyNote can store any file type, with enhanced previews for:
- PDFs: First-page thumbnail preview generated automatically.
- Images: Full-resolution preview with EXIF data preserved.
- Documents: .docx, .txt, .md, and other text-based formats.
- Archives: .zip, .dnote, and other compressed formats.
- Any other file: Stored with filename and size metadata.
How to Add Files
There are two ways to add files to DulyNote:
From Another App (Share Sheet)
- Open the file in any app (Files, Mail, Messages, etc.).
- Tap Share and select DulyNote.
- Add optional tags and confirm.
From Within DulyNote
- Tap the (+) button.
- Select File.
- Use the file picker to locate and select your file.
- Add tags and save.
Local-First Storage
Files added to DulyNote are stored in your device's secure app container. They are not uploaded to any server. When you export a collection containing files, the files are bundled into the .dnote package and can be optionally encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
⚠️ Storage Note
Large files increase the size of your .dnote export packages. Consider organizing large files into dedicated collections for easier backup management.
